Sports Massage

Sports Massage

Providing therapeutic massage to competing athletes; professional, amateur, or recreational is an entirely different process than working with those striving to achieve fitness and to support healthy life styles.

Athletes are all about performance which places many more demands on the body than exercise for fitness.

Recovery and injury prevention in this population is essential as is knowing how to provide massage as part of injury treatment.  With competitive athletes, it is not if they will get injured, but rather when and how severely.  (Fritz, 2005)
